Canteen’s Innovate Reconciliation Action Plan Final Report

Submitted by Ravi_Canteen on

Canteen is proud to share the final report from our Innovate Reconciliation Action Plan (RAP), marking the next step in our reconciliation journey. Since beginning with our Reflect RAP in 2020, we’ve deepened our commitment to advancing reconciliation and fostering culturally responsive, safe spaces for Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander young people and their families/kin impacted by cancer.

Co-designed with Canteen’s Young Adult Reconciliation Network (YARN) and our Professional Advisory Group, the Culturally Responsive Framework was a key milestone, guiding how we deliver services with cultural sensitivity. The YARN has doubled in size since its 2022 inception, with members leading community engagement across events like the Brisbane Murri Carnival and the World Indigenous Cancer Conference.

These achievements are a demonstration of Canteen’s commitment to listening, learning and walking together with Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples to advance reconciliation within our sphere of influence and beyond” says Chair of Canteen’s RAP Working Group and YARN mentor Aunty Glendra Stubbs.

Through culturally driven programs, training initiatives, and strategic partnerships, Canteen continues to listen, learn, and walk alongside Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander communities. We are proud of how far we've come and are excited to keep building strong, meaningful relationships to drive lasting change.

We congratulate and thank the Young Adult Reconciliation Network (YARN), members of our RAP Working Group, and the Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander Professional Advisory Group for championing and guiding our work so far.
